Where’s my Mickey? | Disney continues it’s “Where’s my water” series

Where’s my Mickey

Where’s my Mickey is the latest follow-up of the Disney app “Where’s My Water” and “Where’s my Perry”, not to mention the “Where is my Summer” Special Edition, which is still very new on the App Store.

Now it’s Mickey Mouse and yes, the classic Disney characters still have a sort of sympathy bonus with us. As we can’t always assume that all readers know the previous apps, let alone have played them, we’re going to introduce this kind of physics-based gameplay to you now.

Every “Where’s my…?” – app is about trying to get as much water as you can to a certain target place, by predictively digging you way through the  soil. Like with all physics-based puzzles, the digital water also underlies the force of gravity and needs to be predictively piloted through the soil. Once it’s run down,  the higher levels can only be achieved with other game elements in the game-field.

A funny Summer Story

This time it’s not a crocodile waiting in the bath tub for his water but instead, Disney presents an awesome summer story. Mickey Mouse is trying to open a lemonade stand at the beach. Lemons and all other utensils are ready to be used – the only thing that is missing is water, who would have thought.

Clouds and Lava

Clouds are already being introduced in the second level. Those can be filled with water so that they will eventually start to rain. With the help of the wind, the clouds should be moved to the right position beforehand. Later on, lava will also be part of the game. Those game elements are of course, gently introduced to the player, so that beginners and kids at the elementary school age can get used to the gameplay and it’s levels.

The higher levels can also be quite a challenge, especially if you do not only want to bring the water to it’s target place, but if you’re ambitious enough, you also want to collect all of the stars as a reward.

One in-app purchase to unlock further level packages

Disney charges for one in-app purchase to unlock two more level-worlds (including Goofy as a main character). Even though we’re not keen on in-app purchases, we’re more likely to purchase it after all, latest by the time we’ve finished all of the other levels. I think the psychological component of in-app purchases is still underestimated. It’s not all about the amount or charge X or Y, but actually the point of purchasing a product, which you can’t fully use. We also think that a huge Hint about this is necessary for the iTunes description, so that people know what to expect with this app.

Where’s my Mickey | kids app rating

The small and big animations of “Where’s my Mickey?” are just as brilliant as they are in all of the other “Where’s my…” apps. You’re going to feel fully entertained with this app. There aren’t many new alterations or innovations compared to some of the other predecessors, but once you’ve started on the levels, you’ve forgotten all about that, because instead you’re going to sit tightly and bound to the chair as you play along with the levels.
